Our room

As I said, we were going to hire a car to drive around but.....turns out it's a French public holiday today, Ascension Feast or something. None of the car hirers would let us have a car as they were all booked up. The Canne film festival started yesterday too so it's a busy Cote at the moment!!!

So we took a train from Avignon to Marseilles. It is on the coast and has a harbour FULL of boats of all kinds (see pic). A church on the hill is the beacon. Many parts of Marseilles seem dingy and cheap. There are men everywhere, sitting around in cafes. I think there must be a large Islamic pop. Speaking of men, what are those bastard Gypsy men doing while they send their women and children out to beg on the streets???? I digress.

Our hotel is a quaint, typical French buidling with a labyrinth of rooms. Looks like the room is newly renovated and it's quite comfortable. The pillows are the worst I've ever had though.

I haven't been using my own photos cause I really don't like taking photos! I am lazy about it. So I'll make more of an effort for you fans out there.

Anyway, the blue sky beckons. Can't sit in McDonalds all day writing for you guys............

  1. Parking around that boat park would be difficult. Love the trees, look like sculptures and did you run up and down the stairs for exercise. Did you buy from Moi????? Guess the bike would tickle your fancy!!!!

  5. Macca if you go to France I'll die! I suppose that is one way of getting rid of me! What is it about France? I enjoyed it myself and did not find the people rude as most people maintain. I did attempt to use my schoolgirl French and I think that makes a difference. I think the French hate the English presumption that English is only real language.

  6. yes Mazza, I agree. We are in Italy now, at Genova, I prefer it over France. Even though the French weren't rude to us, I feel like they're too stiff and humourless. The Italians seem to have more joue de vive???

Will look into Cinque Terra today.

Sorry Lee, didn't find any bargains for you.
