Can't Keep Up!!

Howdy folks.... I just can't keep up with this blog!
Tim is much more organised about it than I, check his out too. His are more entertaining too.

Anyhoo, I admit to being totally buggered tonight (sorry Mum). But I'll start from when I left off......

After our night out in Hollywood we took Tim's bike to the shippers in suburban LA. I drove via the GPS (very helpful, as well as being very f****** frustrating) to this outpost and Tim successfully organised the handover of the Guzzi.

We had a languid day and I really wanted to get to the Getty Center for some cultural medicine. The GPS didn't even recognise the word 'Getty' (????) but with the help of a 'regional' gallery person we found out how to get there. Unfortunately by the time we got through the traffic of the 405 it was 4.30, so we only had an hour there. The place is HUGE (like everything in the US) and there was much more to see than we did. We saw a great exhibition of Da Vinci drawings etc relating to sculpture, how appropriate, fabulous darling! We got back to LA Radisson and chilled out for our flight to New York the next morning.

The flight to NY was great, about 5 hrs. Go Qantas! Unfortunately we left LA at 9 am and arrived at 4.30 so really lost a day but that's the way it goes. We are staying at the Hilton in Manhattan. Good spot on 42nd Street!!! (another song) We took the subway to town from the airport and saw some NY suburbia on the way. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived (7PM????) so of course we had to retire to the Irish pub across the road for light relief. We met Julie and Vicki (see pic), indigenous NYorkers, who were really friendly and helpful. They both work at the Bank of America and Julie has the surrogate child/dog, ha.

We are flying to London tomorrow so I'll have to catch up there then too. I am too ............ Tell you about our day today.

  1. Good to see you're buggered. After all that's why you go on holiday, so you can appreciate the quiet life when you get home, ha! I imagine you'll spend about a week looking around the louvre when you get there seeing as you missed so much in the u.s. art gallery. You could take a packed dinner and stay the night under a Picasso, perhaps. The girl strangling you was a little close, best friends forever now! Hope your arms aren't too tired from flying to London.
